Skydive Spaceland Flight School
Instructors
Chief Instructor: Matt Wampler,
Gold Seal CFI/CFII/MEI
Matt
was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Dallas, moving
to central Pennsylvania at the age of 10. After starting
a career in the Information Technology field, he moved
back to Texas to work for Dell Computer Corporation in
Round Rock. In 2001, after starting his Private Pilot
training in Austin, Matt realized that he would rather
earn a living flying airplanes than working on
computers. He made the career switch first becoming an
instrument-rated Commercial Pilot, and then earning his
CFI, CFII, and MEI certificates as well as becoming an
Advanced and Instrument Ground Instructor.
During that time Matt also earned a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Science from
Everglades University in Boca Raton, Florida. From
February 2006 until August 2007, he worked for Pilot's
Choice Aviation in Georgetown, Texas, becoming a Gold
Seal Flight Instructor and working as a commercial jump
pilot with Capitol Skydiving in Austin.
Matt is also an avid skydiver, so when
the opportunity to start the Spaceland Flight School
came around, he couldn't pass it up. Matt's training and
education provided him with a solid foundation in
aeronautical knowledge that he enjoys passing on to
other pilots. His teaching style combines a relaxed and
fun environment with an unwavering commitment to safety
and professionalism, a technique that has proven to be
very effective for his students.
