Load Organizing Seminar June 19-20

    load organizing

Have you ever wanted to be a well-known Load Organizer? Now is your chance to learn new techniques and secretes of organizing successful dive formations. Objective: The Load Organizer Seminar is designed to instill the basic abilities and skills necessary for qualified skydivers to perform the job of a Load Organizer at a specified drop zone. The course consists of classroom activities, role play scenarios, and the organizing and debrief of actual skydives. Format: The LO Seminar is designed to be a two day, weekend course. It can be shortened to a one day course under certain circumstances depending on class size, trainee abilities and drop zone manager specifications. The second day can also be abbreviated by minimizing the actual jumping phase by each trainee. The course will consist of several hours of classroom work during which the role of the LO is discussed in detail and the “secret stuff” needed to be a good, or great, organizer is disclosed. This section is supplemented with hands-on activity, including role playing by the trainees to provide a more ‘real world’ environment. Course materials covering all phases and responsibilities of the LO function will be provided to each trainee. On the afternoon of the first day of the course, the trainees will begin their organized jumps, with post jump debriefs conducted by the trainees, and by the instructors. The trainees will be evaluated for both their ground and air work. This process will continue into the second day of the course and will be followed by further discussion of the aspects of “special organizing”, i.e., boogies, ‘invitational’s’, and record-type events. Special emphasis relating to specific drop zone requirements encountered when operating as a Load Organizer will be included in the courseware. Costs: The cost of the course is $120 per trainee, plus the purchase, at reduced price [through Aerodyne], of the newest “Book of Skydiving Formations” [by Mike Truffer] by each trainee. Additionally, each trainee will be expected to pay for their jumps, at their normal jump ticket prices, whether acting as an LO on that jump, or being a part of the ‘organized’ skydive of another LO trainee. The number of jumps required will be determined by class format and number of trainees. Skydive Spaceland is building a Load Organizing Program for this season and this class is a pre-requisite for becoming a load organizer here. This is a great opportunity to invest in your skills if you enjoy teaching and spreading knowledge to other skydivers, plus it never hurts to be able to make some Free skydives. If you are interested in this class or interested in becoming an organizer for Spaceland, contact eric@skydivespaceland.com
