Texas Skydiving League Championships

frunnel approachTSL meet 4 was last month and I wanted to congratulate Spaceland's Funnel Approach. This is our rookie team and they scored a 19 in Round 4 and are in 1st place in the Rookie division followed by Hot Flash. Spaceland Mamba won 1st place in the Intermediate division followed by Venture 4th and BS5.

Next weekend, Sat the 19th, will start the TSL Championships here at Spaceland. This will be a 10 round 4-way meet and we crown the champions of this season. There is lots of interest from teams, even traveling teams, wanting to use this event as a warm-up for the National Championships in October. If you are interested in competiting in this meet and haven't been participating in the league, you are still welcome to come compete and be judged by a USPA certified judge. We are anticipating a large turnout for this last meet of the season. Contact Eric.

2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships UPDATE!

Woah, it's almost time for the big show on Oct. 12-25th. The staff at Skydive Spaceland have been working overtime preparing for the Nations largest skydiving event in 2009. Free to the public, Spaceland promises fun, excitement and intense skydiving competition. The Nations best skydivers gather to test their skills in 12 different disciplines and fight for the title "The Best In The US." Huge infrastructure improvements are being finalized and we invite you to come out to meet and support your favorite teams. If you haven't been here in a while, you will be amazed with what we have done so far in preparation for the event.

logoCheck out www.uspanationals.com. Registration is now OPEN. There is also a button on the page to watch the registration how-to video, which is a quick walk through of the process. USPANATIONALS.COM will be the official site of the event, hosting scores, blogs and also broadcasting the event LIVE on the site. Tell your friends and family to track your progress and support the home team! Team rooms and RV slots are limited and now available for rent. The week prior to the event will be a great week to come out to get your team in competition mode. Many teams have already scheduled and will be here October 5th.

ATTENTION: Calling all volunteers. As you can imagine an event of this size takes a large volunteer and staff base to make it run efficiently and effectively. We have assembled most of the staffing but would like to ask YOU to be a participant in this team. We still have positions to fill that will aid in producing one of the best National events of all time. I would like to ask for your help. If you would like to be a part of this wonderful event please contact Tina and let her know your schedule and when you're available. We can staff you in a position of interest varying from judging assistant, registration assistants, grounds and maintenance, spotters, banquet assistant, swoop park assistant and the list goes on. Please take the time and contact tinahyder@gmail.com and be a part of this incredible event. We need you.

Visit our Blog for updated photos of the improvements.

Jam at the Swoop Park.....Open Mic Nightpond pumps

October 2 & 3 after jump hours, festivities will be kicking off with a few pre-nationals events. Kirk and Deb along with friends will be setting up at the pond for a good ol' time. They are bringing out the mics, amps and guitars for a jam session and open mic night. If you play or maybe if you sing, come on out and join in the fun. Don't be shy, practice up, tune up, string up and come on out and jam with your friends.
